Philosophy and Approach

We prioritize children’s wellbeing by designing our program with key principles in mind:

🔹 Need-based: Every intervention begins with a needs assessment to address specific gaps in each child’s life.

🔹 Research-based: Our interventions are rooted in strong, relevant theories to maximize positive outcomes.

🔹 Evidence-based: All our activities follow a logical framework supported by empirical evidence from our monitoring and evaluation system.

🔹 Trauma-informed: We focus on supporting children with recurring traumas or adverse childhood experiences to help them thrive alongside their peers.

Trauma-Informed Practice is a crucial, strengths-based approach that prioritizes understanding and addressing the impact of trauma on individuals’ lives. This method underscores the significance of providing physical, psychological, and emotional safety for all, empowering individuals to regain control and thrive.

In our EOP/ECD program, we prioritize Trauma-informed practices to safeguard against overlooking any essential risks or threats in a child’s developmental journey.

However, Trauma-informed interventions do not need to be health care. At WWO, our efforts include building awareness, staff wellness support, hiring a workforce aligned with the values of trauma-informed care, and creating a safe environment.

All of these approaches work together toward helping our clients to RISE:

Readiness – Integration – Sustainability – Equity.

Leveraging for Scope and Scale

We value collaboration with various stakeholders – local, national, and international Non-profit organizations, child protection agencies, service providers, corporates, community members, and individuals – who champion children’s wellbeing. By partnering with these stakeholders, we create a ripple effect that extends far beyond our program framework, ensuring a lasting impact.

Referrals for the Whole Child Development

Given the extensive needs of our clients, we connect them with community resources for support beyond what we offer at WWO. At WWO, we also play the role of a referral network member to reciprocate with our expertise and resources.
